The Royal Wedding Dress by Twenty Theatre Designers

A 44-page fully illustrated catalogue.

In Celebration of the Royal Wedding and to mark the occasion of The Theatrical Guild`s 120th Anniversary.

Twenty designs for The Royal Wedding dress have gone under the hammer in a celebrity packed auction in London. The designs by top British theatre designers were sold in aid of the Theatrical Guild charity. Actress Belinda Lang who helped to organize the event stated,” Working in the theatre, I have always had a profound respect for the people who design the sets and costumes. I decided to approach a number of our leading designers to see where their imagination would take them, were they given the challenge of designing Kate Middleton’s dress. The brief I gave them was from fantastical to the simply chic”.
The exhibition was hosted by Chris Beetles in his Gallery in St James. The guest auctioneer was none other than the notorious best selling author Lord Jeffrey Archer of Weston - Super - Mare, who confidently took the podium and worked the crowd of resting and non resting thespians.

The designers included:
Janet Bird, Alison Chitty, Bob Crowley, Fotini Dimou, Colin Falconer, Paul Farnsworth, Jonathan Fensom, Tim Goodchild, Lucy Hall, Simon Higlett, Michael Howells, Robert Jones, Dody Nash, Adreane Neofitou, Terry Parsons, Michael Pavelka, Colin Richmond, Mark Thompson, Anthony Ward and Matthew Wright.

We have also produced a delicious little notebook - very easy to slip into a top pocket or handbag, and a snip at £2.50.

Ideal for Christmas stockings! The frontispiece features Dame May Whitty, a former TTG president. She was a remarkable woman – a working actress, a champion of women in the arts, and a tireless fund raiser during WWI, (for which she was awarded a DBE). Her career flowered in her 70s when she made 5 major films! The photo on the notebook is an early publicity shot of her at about 18. It‘s extraordinary to think that her remarkable life lay ahead…
